The West End Seniors’ Network offers our members programs, workshops, presentations, and events at Barclay Manor, offsite at other locations or outdoors, as well as virtually. These programs and events are a fun way to enjoy a hobby, learn and socialize with others.
All programs and events are by donation unless otherwise stated.
Programs and events are open to adults 55 years of age and older with a current West End Seniors’ Network membership. You are welcome to try an activity before becoming a member, space permitting.
For non-members, daily or weekly passes can be purchased from Barclay Manor reception:
$2.00 for a day pass
$5.00 for a week pass
For more information about becoming a member or renewing your membership and donations, please visit our membership page.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WESN programs may be running with reduced capacities at Barclay Manor, on hold until further notice, or running virtually (on Zoom or by teleconference). All programs held at Barclay Manor are by pre-registration, including use of the Computer Lab.
The status of programs and our hours of operation are subject to change without notice due to the circumstances.
Registration Information
Registration for participation in programs from March 1 – April 2 is now open. Registration for participation in April will open at the end of March.
Register for programs by calling 604-669-5051 or by emailing programs@wesn.ca. In-person registration is not available at Barclay Manor at this time.
Registration is required for all programs and events. Please note that virtual programs only require one initial registration – you do not need to re-register each month if the program runs virtually (on Zoom or by phone).
What Do We Offer?
The programs and events we offer are subject to change. New ones may be added while unattended ones may be cancelled.
For details about the programs and events offered this month, please see our monthly newsletter.
A list of our in-person programs can be found here.
A list of our virtual programs can be found here.
Our programs and events can also be found on our calendar.
If you would like more information, to register for a program or event, to cancel your registration, to provide feedback, or to suggest a new program, please call Barclay Manor at 604-669-5051 or email programs@wesn.ca.
Computer Lab
Our Computer Lab is open! It is on the top floor of Barclay Manor and has two PC computers and a printer-copier available for members to use.
Registration is required to use the Computer Lab. You may book a session for the current week or the next week, up to 3 sessions a week, and for timeslots of up to 90 minutes each.
Register by calling 604-669-5051 or by emailing programs@wesn.ca.
Printing
There is a printer in the Computer Lab that members may use while they are booked in the space. The printer prints on letter size (8.5” x 11”) paper in black and white. It can copy documents.
Printing is $0.10 per side. A fee collection box is located beside the printer. No change is provided.
If you require assistance with printing, please book an appointment with a Technology Coach.
Staff will not be assisting with printing until further notice.
Cancellations
While we never want to cancel programs or events if we can help it, we need a minimum number of attendees to run each program and event. Please register early if you are interested in attending and we will notify you if there is any change to the scheduling. Regular programs may also experience room changes for special events, which will be posted on-site.
Due to the unpredictability of the pandemic, programs may also change from in-person to virtual or put on hold without notice or with short notice.
We apologize for any inconveniences.
Thank you for working with us to help provide you with quality activities every month!
Waivers
Note that some programs require signing a waiver prior to participating.
