The West End Seniors’ Network offers our members programs, workshops, presentations, and events at Barclay Manor, offsite at other locations, outdoors, and virtually. These activities are a fun way to enjoy a hobby, learn, be physically and mentally active, and socialize with others.
All programs and events are by donation unless otherwise stated.
Programs and events are open to adults 55 years of age and older with a current West End Seniors’ Network membership. You are welcome to try an activity before becoming a member, space permitting.
For non-members, daily or weekly passes can be purchased from Barclay Manor reception:
$2.00 for a day pass
$5.00 for a week pass
For more information about becoming a member or renewing your membership and donations, please visit our membership page.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WESN programs may be running with reduced capacities, paused, held outdoors, or running virtually (on Zoom or by teleconference).
Masks are mandatory while inside Barclay Manor. Proof of vaccination is required for indoor exercise programs, programs and events with 50+ people, at restaurants, or as specified. If you have a medical exemption/reason for being unable to receive vaccination or wear a mask, speak with a staff member prior to registering for a program or event.
The status of programs and events and our hours of operation are subject to change.
Registration for participation in programs from November 1 – 30 is open on October 28 at 10:00AM. Registration for December 1 – 31 opens on November 25 at 10:00AM.
Register for programs by calling 604-669-5051 or by emailing [email protected].
Registration is required for all programs and events. Please note that virtual programs only require one initial registration – you do not need to re-register each month if the program runs virtually (on Zoom or by phone), unless specified.
What Do We Offer?
The programs and events we offer are subject to change. New ones may be added while unattended ones may be cancelled.
For details about the programs and events offered this month, please see our monthly newsletter.
A list of our in-person programs can be found here.
A list of our virtual programs can be found here.
Our programs and events can also be found on our calendar.
If you would like more information, to register for a program or event, to cancel your registration, to provide feedback, or to suggest a new program, please call Barclay Manor at 604-669-5051 or email [email protected].
Our Computer Lab is open for drop-in use. It is on the top floor of Barclay Manor and has 5 computers and a printer-copier-scanner available for members to use (fees apply).
Upon entering the Computer Lab, please write your name and when you arrive on the whiteboard. If all computers are in use and someone is waiting, there is a 30 minute time limit for the individual who has been present the longest unless someone is finishing up and offers their spot.
There is a printer in the Computer Lab that members may use while they are booked in the space. The printer prints on letter size (8.5” x 11”) paper in black and white. It can copy documents.
Printing is $0.10 per side. A fee collection box is located beside the printer. No change is provided.
If you require assistance with printing, please book an appointment with a Technology Coach.
If you require colour printing, please email your file(s) to [email protected] and ask Jenna for assistance.
While we avoid cancelling programs or events if we can help it, we need a minimum number of attendees to run each program and event. Register early if you are interested in attending and we will notify you if there is any change to the scheduling. Regular programs may also experience room changes for special events, which will be posted on-site.
We apologize for any inconveniences.
Thank you for working with us to help provide you with quality activities every month!
Note that some programs require signing a waiver prior to participating.
Participation in programs is at the discretion of the individual. Presentations and materials from external organizations or individuals may not reflect the views of WESN. Participant discretion is advised.
In addition to smaller seasonal events, the West End Seniors’ Network hosts these special events during the year. Our thanks to our many sponsors, without whom these would not be possible.
Join us in celebrating the summer with live music, raffles, vendors, and strawberry shortcake.
A celebration of LGBTQ2+ seniors in a welcoming environment.
An opportunity for our members to share a meal together and enjoy the holiday season.
Because no older adult should feel alone on Christmas Day.
