I have been the Treasurer at WESN since last September’s Annual General Meeting. I have a background that includes providing financial oversight and am happy to bring my skills to WESN. My early career was in accounting and later as a financial specialist managing pension and benefit plans for large public sector organizations.
Volunteering as Treasurer on WESN’s Board of Directors means giving back to an organization that helped me keep my Mom active, healthy, and happy during the last years of her life. During my career, I would advise employees on retirement matters. These conversations would include what the employee planned for their time after retirement, which almost always included travel.
I traveled a lot during my working years and decided to take early retirement to travel more myself. I have transitioned into the travel agency business and for the past 8 years have been a trusted Travel Advisor. I most enjoy the interactions and discussions I have with other WESN members on their personal travel stories.
