5 Robson/Downtown

Effective Sept. 2, 2014, the City of Vancouver’s VIVA Events at Robson Square is complete and service returns to regular route on Robson St. between Burrard St. and Seymour St.

 N6 West End/Downtown

Effective Sept. 2, 2014, the City of Vancouver’s VIVA Events at Robson Square is complete and service returns to its regular route on Robson St. between Burrard St. and Seymour St.

 Burrard Station

Effective Sept. 2, 2014, the City of Vancouver’s VIVA Events at Robson Square is complete and service returns to regular route on Robson St. between Burrard St. and Seymour St.

  •     5 Robson/Downtown will not service Burrard Station
  •     N6 Downtown will not service Burrard Station

 Granville Mall Weekend Closures

Effective Sept. 2, 2014, the following routes return to regular service and will continue to be detoured on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  •  4 Powell/UBC
  • 6 Davie/Downtown
  • 7 Nanaimo Station/Dunbar
  • 10 Granville/Downtown
  • 14 Hastings/UBC
  • 16 29th Avenue Station/Arbutus
  • 17 Oak/Downtown
  • 20 Victoria/Downtown
  • 50 Waterfront Station/False Creek South

 19 Metrotown Station/Stanley Park

The downtown shuttle service operating on this route between West Pender St. and Cambie St. to Stanley Park is discontinued.

 44 UBC/Downtown

To accommodate the start of the fall semester at UBC, all weekday trips in the AM and PM peak periods return to regular service.

  • every 7 to 8 minutes in the AM peak period departing from downtown Vancouver
  • every 12 minutes in the PM peak period departing from UBC

Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency – Call for Board of Directors

House with dollar sign.bmpThe City is looking for volunteers from the general public to serve on the Vancouve Affordable Housing Agency (VAHA).

The Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency (VAHA) is a City-controlled, but legally separate, entity created to implement the recommendations from the Mayor’s Task Force on Housing Affordability.

The Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency’s goals are to:

  • Ensure resources and projects align with Council goals and objectives
  • Deliver housing as quickly, efficiently, and affordably as possible through standardized processes, economies of scale, and clear decision making
  • Identify where the greatest impact can be made, and act as a catalyst for innovative housing ideas and models
  • Evaluate outcomes and share learnings with the City and senior levels of government, driving standardization and streamlining of processes across multiple delivery platforms

The city is looking for  experienced and expert community board members who bring a strong understanding of the affordable housing needs across Vancouver. Find details at  VAHA-Public-Call for Directors Aug 2014 The deadline for applications is Monday, September 22nd.
